August 31st!

Voila! hehehe.. Happy 53rd National Day to my country, Malaysia. Well, today's topic isn't about this red-letter day. What I want to tell is........ I've just come back from Taman Pertanian Malaysia, Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam with my friends - 14 included myself. We went there early in the morning but not early enough to rent bicycles there. What a miss! Anyway, we resorted to walking and went to Animal Park. There was an energetic parrot talking "hello", "how are you (in Cantonese)", etc.. There were other animals such as peahens (but not peacock), monkeys, etc.. Then, we went for sightseeing and photography session before entering the 4-season house. It's Autumn theme for this month, but inside the house, it was fully air-conditioned of 16 degree Celcius! We snapped a lot of pictures there. Soon afterward, we went to the top of a wooden tower to have our picnic. The stairs were very steep, but upon reaching, it was actually very rewarding. Since there was many leftovers after everyone stopped eating, we decided to play games where the losers had to eat a piece of the food left. We played "007 boom" and "spicy spicy sushi who wanna eat" (Cantonese.. lolz). I could see everyone was enjoying this slot. It was indeed fun! After that, it began to drizzle, we decided to go home. We boarded a shuttle bus and went round the park for one and a half round before leaving for our respective residential areas. :)

Step Up 3

Okay, I'm back here again after missing for 5 days. To update my personal diary, I would like to mention what I did on Sunday. 4 days ago, which was a Sunday, Joey, Kennt and I went to jusco Balakong Green Box and had our best-time-ever singing for 3 hours non-stop. We had lots of fun, and I couldn't wait for more to come.

Today, I went to meet my supervisor, Dr. N for the second time in this week, and he told me a lot of things - proposal, presentation, et cetera. Most importantly was my programme is accurate despite a little flaw in my input section. I guess, I'll correct it by tomorrow if possible.

Tonight, Peter, Mei Shing, Joey and I went to Jusco Balakong for a movie - Step Up 3. We got our tickets and felt weird for the tickets showed the airing time: 7.55pm because Joey had checked via the internet that it was supposed to be 7.30pm. Joey asked the ticket seller, but the ticket seller said it was indeed aired at 7.55pm. So, we went to go for a little shopping since there was still a lot of time left. However, when we reached the cinema Room 3, we couldn't get our seats! They were occupied, and we had missed the first ten minutes or more of the movie! Luckily, there were 4 empty seats for us and we watched the movie. We checked the tickets again, and to our great dismay, the tickets were meant for Saturday's. Also, we realized the ticket for Thursday should be RM 9 and not RM 11. WTF! After finishing the movie, we went to the counter and lodged a complaint. We got back the RM 2 which we paid extra but lost the first few minutes of the movie. Sigh.... Nevertheless, Step Up 3 was a very great movie with more dancing compared to the previous two. *Thumbs up*

Roundabout

I see a path;

I follow it;

It leads me to a roundabout;

With many exits.

I can choose

To explore one of them -

A road with complete mystery;

A dirt road, a plaza road, a stairway, a subway or a highway?

No one knows

What lies ahead of the mysterious road.

I'm still standing by the first exit;

There are still many exits that can be chosen.

Should I get to the other exit?

Perhaps the last one?

How about to stay put?

Or should I just encircle the roundabout?

YEAH!!!!!! Test 1 has officially ended!!!!!!

Today, I sat for my final paper of Test 1 - MTH3104. I'm finally free from examination for at least 3 weeks or so!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! Actually, my housemates and I have decided to went to sing karaoke at 2 p.m. today, but they had a sudden change of plan and opted for movie. Since I'm not really in the mood to watch movie, I didn't join them. Fortunately, Teck Boon texted me, and he's inviting me to join them to sing K at 4 p.m. in Jusco Balakong. So, I joined them - Teck Boon, Kah Weng, Joanne, Cyan, Sin Hui and Wei Chin. It was my first time singing with these four girls. It was fun! We were supposed to sing for 3 hours from 4 p.m., but we were given a 2-hour free extension, which made us sang until 9 p.m.! Oh, gosh! Nevertheless, I haven't lost my voice. Lolx... We went to the restaurant cum food court next to Jusco - Restaurant Y, if I'm not mistaken. We had our dinner and chatted until 11 p.m.! That was when it started to rain! I'm still waiting for Teck Boon's sms to ensure me about his safety upon his arrival at home. It is still raining cats and dogs........ It will be a good night sleep for sure... :)

speaking my heart out...

Today I had my Mathematical Programming exam. I think I did well for the first two questions, but I did the last question wrong. My lecturer told us the answer should be unbounded solution, but most of us got 2 optimal solutions! Our mathematical model was wrong! Thus, we might get nil for that question. Upon reaching home, I went to Facebook and typed this in my status: "Instead of nailing the questions, I get a nil. Am I not hardworking enough? Perhaps I'm just a mere lad who expects highly for an unreachable platform. Wake up, SOH JENQLII!". Now, after recollecting my thoughts and analyzing them, I begin to understand one thing, studying smart and hard aren't enough. What we need besides those two aspects is LUCK - as what I always said but yet have forgotten due to the wavering mood - WISDOM and LUCK. I hope in my forthcoming exams, I'll be fortunate enough to nail all the questions given. Well, one might say I'm a very "kiasu" person, or perhaps too exam-oriented mind, but what is my might? I know having a first class degree will never guarantee my place in the society, yet I'm still chasing the dream for I wish to make myself proud as well as my family! I don't want them to be looked down; not even a slight of oppression from any party; neither relatives nor friends. Also, I hope to reduce my parents' burden especially concerning monetary matter as I understand their circumstance perfectly. I don't care how other people look at me, but as long as I stand on my feet and never frail, I will eventually accomplish my this very dream which is one of my desires too. Okay, I know I'm getting all emotional over here, and for this has proven me that I'm a mere human who has feelings and needs to speak his heart out.

Erm.. That's all for the emotional part. Well, I went to Midvalley around 2 p.m. today with Joey, Kennt, Wei Kiat, Jared and two other friends who I know not much about those two. We went there for shopping and bowling. It's my first time playing the so-called "nightclub-style" of bowling - illuminous bowling alley, pins and balls made everything so "nightclub" to me. Anyway, I didn't perform very well today; should I put all the blames to the bowling centre? Lolz.. I think I should. After bowling, we couldn't decide what we should have for dinner until circa 30mins later, we decided to go to 小飞象 in Bukit Serdang for dinner. We chatted and I wonder what time I reached home as I didn't look at the time. Perhaps 8.30 p.m. or 9 p.m.? Lolz.. Who cares? As long as I had a great time with this bunch of buddies over there, I care not! Okay, I wish to have an early sleep tonight. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a very good day for me. Good night, peeps! ^^~

Course Night - FYP - First Test

Hey, guys! I haven't been blogging since last Friday because I was and I am still busy for my FYP as well as my First Test. I'll have to sit for Mathematical Programming Test tomorrow and Mathematical Methods Test on next Wednesday.

Well, allow me to express myself on last Friday's Course Night. In my opinion, it didn't really suit the theme - Clubbin' Night. Besides, the programmes held that night were just okay to me; perhaps I had high hopes for them. Anyway, the emcees were humorous, the duet was great, the hula-hop dance was okay, the food was okay, the process of selection for Course King, Queen, Prince and Princess was kind of the same during my year, the musics were great though, but the juniors weren't 'sporting' enough to enjoy the Clubbin' Night; it was like the seniors were 'syok-ing sendiri'. Nevertheless, I know there's nothing perfect and there is always room for progression. So, I would like to give a thumb-up for the Second Year Juniors for their involvements as well as contributions. Honestly, they were way better than my batch of people. They just need the opportunity to shine!

FYP wise, I tried my very best to understand the codes and the Tcl language. I tried to modify the existing programme of one of my seniors - Moo. Eventually, I did what Dr. N wanted me to do at the night before our meeting. Last Monday, I showed him my modification proudly, and I could see he was very glad. I was in the seventh-heaven of delight^^.. He gave me some tasks to do for this week. I did 70% of them, but I'm stuck at the last part, that is to insert the RKN equations to the programmes by editing the existing RK Method equations.

Well, I cannot spend all my time merely on my FYP as I need to focus in my revision for my exams too. Hence, I decided not to look at my FYP until my exam's over despite having to meet my supervisor next Monday. I hope Dr. N will condone my reluctance in completing the task. Talking about examination, I've sat for Complex Analysis Test and I think I did okay despite the uncertainty in solving 2 of the questions asked. I might not get full marks, but I have done my best. Hopefully, I'll obtain flying colours results for my First Test as I've given and I'll give my very best in it!

Salt

Yesterday afternoon, Wei Kiat came to Old Flat, and I hope I didn't bore him much. Lolz.. In our conversation, we decided to go for a movie - Salt - that night and so, we went to Jusco Balakong to watch. Salt is a great movie starred by Angelina Jolie and the others. It's about a spy raised in Russia and the attempt to assassinate the Presidents of Russia and U.S.A.. In my opinion, this action-packed movie is on a par with the movie - Inception, although it doesn't require as much thinking as the latter. Wei Kiat accidentally left the bread he bought in the cinema, and thus we went to 7Eleven to buy another one. Lolz.. Sorry for not helping you to remember about the existence of the bread. ><.. Anyway, it was indeed a great outing! :)

hectic weekdays

This Monday, I had a meeting with Dr. N about my FYP, and he gave me new tasks, which were to understand the Tcl Programming Language, to familiarize with the SpecTcl software, as well as to modify the RK-solving calculator into RKN-solving type. I was thunderstruck as I didn't have any knowledge about the Tcl and SpecTcl! I was just given a week to settle all these! Since I hadn't fully recovered from my illness and I had a hectic Monday to Wednesday, I didn't actually have the time to have a look at my FYP. I had to study for two quizzes, and my Test 1 is just around the corner!

I am weak in Programming and yet I chose Dr. N as my supervisor. I couldn't put a blame on anyone about this, could I? *sigh* Well, I did badly in those two quizzes. I practically didn't have thought Dr. Zainidin would ask those questions. *sigh* Yesterday night, MJ's house had a housewarming steamboat party, but I didn't attend since I wasn't feeling well. *sigh*

Anyway, yesterday, TKS, HMS, TSY, PSY and I went to The Mines to play bowling. It was enjoyable as it has been a while since I last played bowling. Also, this coming Friday, that would be tomorrow, there will be a Course Night handled by our Math & Stat 2nd year juniors for welcoming our 1st year juniors. I'm looking forward to this event, and I hope I will enjoy the night as the theme of the event is "Clubbin' Night".

Well, for now, I'll just concentrate in my FYP's tasks and study for my forthcoming exams. *ush ush!!* I can do it! がんばって!
